Curriculum Vitae

NAME:  Dr. Harman Murtagh

  Dr. Murtagh is a lecturer with Athlone Institute of Technology
  He holds Degrees and Diplomas from the National University of Ireland, Trinity College Dublin, and the University of Amsterdam. He is also a qualified lawyer.
  His Doctorate was awarded in 1986 by the National University of Ireland and is in the field of early modern Irish History.
  He has lectured and published extensively on Irish historic settlement and on late seventeenth-century military history. His book Athlone history and society to 1800 will appear early in 2000.

Name:  Mary Antoinette Shine Thompson

  Dr. Thompson's doctoral degree was awarded in 1997 by the National University of Ireland, an associated dissertation is entitled Austin Clarke: A Literary Life-Chronology.
  Dr. Thompson also holds a masters degree in Anglo-Irish literature conferred by Trinity College Dublin.

Name:  Kate Bateman

  Kate Bateman was conferred with a Master's Degree in 1992 by the National University of Ireland. This award was based on a major thesis on Hubert Butler - a fairly contemporary essayist and man of letters. Kate's Masters course was directed towards the study and appreciation of Anglo-Irish literature since the eighteenth century.

Name:  Jim Mulroy

  Jim Mulroy is a lecturer with Athlone Institute of Technology.
  He holds a Master's in Economics and a Bachelors Degree in Law, both awarded by the National University of Ireland, and has been a member of the Law Society of Ireland since 1994.
  Prior to taking up a role in the academic sector Jim spent some time with An Foras Forbartha - (the Irish National Planning Organisation).
